Ocean City, New Jersey has several really good surf shops and a dedicated surfing community. Surfing is permitted at all beaches when life guards are off duty. In addition, Ocean City has designated surfing beaches that have life guards. Surfing contests and surfing camps are held frequently along with board rentals.

Ocean City, NJ is located on an 8 mile barrier island. To the east is the beautiful Atlantic Ocean; to the west, a pristine back bay. Wave runner rentals, parasailing, fishing and boating all take place on the back bay. Surfing, swimming & boogie boarding are the fun things on the ocean side
